"A Journey in Anatolian Geography" (1968-1972)
“Turkish Folk Arts Research Association” was founded in 1968 within the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts by academy students, including Erdal Küpeli and Cengiz Eruzun, who later served as faculty members at the academy.
Researching and documenting folk arts, local architecture, customs and traditions, oral and written folk language cultural assets and ethnographic heritage that continue to exist within the borders of the Republic of Turkey are among the goals of the association.
The photographs in the presentation were taken by the members of the association during their research trips to many cities and regions, especially Antalya, Malatya, Van, Isparta, Burdur and Sivas, between 1968 and 1972, by retired Assistant Faculty Member of the Department of Photography. Assoc. It was taken by Erdal Küpeli, its negatives were compiled by Kamil Fırat, Faculty Member of the Department of Photography, and Research Assistant at the Photography Application Research Center. See. It was scanned and made ready for display with the help of Bora Şençalar and photography department student Tahir Akkurt.
